Conselho fotográfico
Tanah Lot temple at sunset: arrive 45 minutes before to find position on the low rock terraces facing west. Lake Batur eastern shore (1,040 m) at dawn for the Agung silhouette with the caldera lake in the foreground.
Bali is 8.7 degrees south of the equator, giving golden hour about 22 minutes year-round. The island has two distinct photography orientations: the west coast (Seminyak, Legian, Tanah Lot) faces the Indian Ocean for sunset, while the east coast (Sanur) faces the Lombok Strait for sunrise. Tanah Lot, a sea temple on a rock outcrop 23 meters offshore, faces west and frames the sun dropping into the ocean on clear days. Mount Agung (3,031 m), the sacred volcano in the northeast, catches alpenglow in the minutes before sunrise visible from the rice terraces of Jatiluwih (UNESCO World Heritage) or the shores of Lake Batur at 1,040 meters elevation. Tegallalang rice terraces north of Ubud catch oblique morning light through palm trees from 7am.
