Conselho fotográfico

Notre-Dame de la Garde terrace for 360° panorama. Vieux-Port at sunrise (northeast-facing boats and Fort Saint-Jean). Vallon des Auffes (small fishing harbor on the Corniche) for intimate harbor-at-golden-hour shots.

Notre-Dame de la Garde sits on a 149-meter hill above Marseille, visible from most of the city and from the sea. The terrace view is 360 degrees: the Old Port (Vieux-Port) to the north, the Frioul Islands to the west, the Calanques limestone cliffs to the southeast, and the city stretching toward the Alps behind. The Vieux-Port faces northeast — morning light hits the boats and Fort Saint-Jean from the right. The Corniche Kennedy, the coastal road running south from the Old Port along the cliffs, gives sea views toward the Frioul archipelago. The Calanques — limestone inlets southeast of the city — require hiking or a boat; Calanque de Sormiou (12km from center by car, then 30-minute hike) is among the most accessible. At 43°N, golden hour runs around 40 minutes in summer.
