Doha: The Corniche Skyline Reflected in the Arabian Gulf
Hora dourada, hora azul e crepúsculo em Doha. Dados astronômicos NASA JPL DE441.
Photo tip
MIA Park waterfront at sunrise: face northeast across the water toward the West Bay skyline with the museum visible to the left. The glass towers produce mirror reflections in the still gulf water during the first 10 minutes of direct light — a period that coincides exactly with golden hour at 25°N.
Doha sits at 25.3°N on the western shore of the Arabian Gulf, facing east over the water. Golden hour lasts around 26 minutes. The Corniche (7 km crescent-shaped promenade) faces the West Bay financial district skyline across the water — the glass towers catch morning light in full direct sun and are silhouetted at sunset. The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), designed by I.M. Pei, sits on an artificial peninsula south of the Corniche surrounded by water on three sides; at golden hour, the geometric stone facade illuminates from the east and reflects in the surrounding water. The Katara Cultural Village shoreline, 4 km north, faces east over the Gulf with an uncluttered horizon. Clearest conditions occur in winter (November–March).
