A spectacular annular solar eclipse belonging to Saros 136 — the same series that produced the record 2027 total solar eclipse over Egypt. The path of annularity crosses northern Africa, the Middle East, and sweeps across Central and Southeast Asia into China. Major cities in the path include Algiers, Cairo, Riyadh, Tehran, Islamabad, and several large Chinese cities. With 5m 21s of annularity at maximum, the ring of fire is prominent and photogenic.
