Every miradouro is different; one is better than the rest
Golden hour, blue hour, and twilight times in Lisbon. NASA JPL DE441 astronomical data.
Photo tip
Miradouro da Graça at sunset — west-facing, higher than Portas do Sol, less crowded. Almada south bank (Cristo Rei base) for the city and 25 de Abril Bridge at golden hour.
Lisbon has 36 official miradouros — hilltop viewpoints across the city's seven hills. Most face south over the Tagus estuary. The Miradouro da Graça faces west and slightly north, giving you the castle and Alfama rooftops in the foreground, with the 25 de Abril Bridge and the Cristo Rei visible on clear days. It sits higher and quieter than the more famous Portas do Sol below. The 25 de Abril Bridge crossing the Tagus is broadly similar to the Golden Gate in profile — the south bank at Almada, particularly the promenade below Cristo Rei, gives you the city and the bridge from the opposite shore at sunset. Golden hour at 39°N runs around 33 minutes in summer, noticeably brief after cities further north. Tram 28 passes several miradouros on its route through Alfama.
