About this chart
No birth time is documented for this person. The chart therefore shows planetary positions in their signs, the slow aspects between them, and the generational context — but not house placements, the Ascendant, or the Midheaven, which require an accurate birth time. The Moon's sign carries a ±6° margin: if it falls near a sign boundary, the sign could vary. Positions for all other planets are reliable.

Without a documented birth time, house positions, the Ascendant, and the Midheaven are not calculated. Planetary positions in signs are derived from noon on the birth date.
Rodri was born on 22 June 1996 in Madrid, the day after the summer solstice. The Sun at approximately 1° Cancer has just crossed the solstice threshold — the degree that carries both the end of one sign's arc and the very beginning of the next. Cancer opens with an orientation toward interior life, emotional intelligence, and the reading of invisible currents beneath the visible surface of events. In football terms, this Sun describes a player who perceives what is about to happen before it happens, who organises others through awareness of the game's hidden geometry rather than through visible assertion.
At his birth, Pluto had recently entered Sagittarius (~3°) from Scorpio, marking the transition between two very different generational registers. Neptune was in late Capricorn (~26°), completing its long passage through the sign of structural authority. Saturn was in early Aries (~4°) — the sign of direct competitive action, Mars's own territory. Jupiter was in Capricorn, supporting the Saturn-Neptune theme of structured institutional understanding. Uranus had entered Aquarius (~3°), beginning the transit that would produce the networked generation.
The outer planet picture for 1996 sits exactly on the cusp between two eras: Pluto leaving Scorpio's depths for Sagittarius's horizons, Uranus just entering Aquarius. Rodri's generation inherited both registers.
No birth time is documented for Rodri. Planetary sign positions use a noon ephemeris and are approximate.
Rodri belongs to the Pluto in Sagittarius generation (1995–2008), the first cohort of the internet era, born at the exact moment when global connectivity shifted from exceptional to ordinary. Pluto entered Sagittarius in January 1995, and the first births under this configuration — Rodri's 1995–1997 cohort — grew up as the infrastructure of the global football economy reached its mature form: centralized academies, continental scouting networks, data-driven identification of talent at younger and younger ages.
The Pluto in Sagittarius generation is the cohort that produced the first true wave of global club football as a mass entertainment product: the players whose careers began in the mid-2010s and who reached their peaks in the era of streaming, social media, and genuinely worldwide audience reach. Rodri's career is characteristic of what the most complete outcomes look like in this era: Villarreal to Atlético Madrid to Manchester City to Ballon d'Or, each transition made at precisely the right moment, each level mastered before the next was attempted.
The Sagittarian emphasis on the horizon — the next territory, the larger picture — finds its footballing expression in Rodri's signature quality: the perception of the game from a height that most players cannot reach, the ability to see the whole field's state and intervene at the point of maximum leverage.

The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.
The Cancer Sun at 1° — the solstice degree — describes a person at a threshold: carrying the culmination of one arc while beginning another. Cancer's intelligence is receptive before it is assertive; it processes the environment before it acts on it. The player who appears to be doing nothing for extended passages and then, suddenly, intervenes decisively — this is the Cancer quality applied to a football context. Rodri is famous for this: the interceptions that appear inevitable after the fact because he had positioned himself for them minutes earlier.
Saturn in Aries at his birth year describes the generational relationship to competitive action: a cohort that learned to apply direct force through structural intelligence rather than impulse, that turned aggressive energy into organised pressure. The disciplined defensive midfielder who can also carry the ball and produce in the final third — the role Rodri defined at the highest level — is Saturn in Aries made tactical.
The Pluto-Sagittarius transition at birth describes someone who stands between two registers of collective experience: deep enough in Scorpio's territory to carry intensity and analytical depth, shaped primarily by Sagittarius's expansive orientation. The metronomic composure under pressure for which Rodri is known has Scorpionic quality; the range and ambition of his vision belong to Sagittarius.
The readings above are symbolic and archetypal. They do not constitute psychological diagnoses or predictions.
Astrian does not claim that the natal chart of Rodri caused or determined any of the above. Astrology is a symbolic system with 2,500 years of literature. Its capacity for retrospective description does not imply explanatory capacity.
The following are verified biographical facts. No connection to the natal chart is implied.
Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, known throughout football as Rodri, was born on 22 June 1996 in Madrid. He developed through the youth system of Atlético Madrid before following a path through Villarreal's development structure that gave him extended playing time at a competitive level before returning to Atlético Madrid as a first-team player in 2018.
Manchester City paid a reported £62.8 million to sign him in August 2019. Pep Guardiola's system required a specific profile at the base of midfield: a player who could protect the defensive line, receive the ball under pressure, redistribute it with precision, and maintain the team's positional structure across ninety minutes. Rodri fulfilled that profile so completely that, within two seasons, he was regarded as the best player in his position in the world.
The titles accumulated: four Premier League championships, an FA Cup, a League Cup, and the Champions League in the Treble-winning season of 2022–23, in which Rodri scored the winning goal in the final against Inter Milan in Istanbul. He was named the best player of the 2022–23 Champions League season.
With Spain, he was a fixture in the national team from the 2021 UEFA Nations League — which Spain won — through the 2024 European Championship, where he was central to Spain's tournament-winning campaign and named the best player of the tournament. The Ballon d'Or followed in October 2024: the first Spaniard to win football's highest individual honour since Luis Suárez in 1960, and the recognition of a standard of sustained excellence across club and country that was difficult to dispute.
In September 2024, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury that ended his participation in the 2024–25 season.
