The Sun stands at approximately 16° Aquarius, the fixed air sign associated in astrological tradition with the collective, the unconventional, and the systematic dismantling of hierarchies.
Mercury is near 5° Aquarius. Venus occupies early Pisces, near 3°. Mars is in mid-Aquarius, around 12°, sharing the sign with the Sun and Mercury — three personal planets concentrated in Aquarius in the first week of February 1985.
Jupiter is near 28° Capricorn, on the cusp of Aquarius; it would cross into Aquarius within weeks of this birth. Saturn occupies Scorpio near 25°. Pluto is in Scorpio near 4°. Saturn and Pluto share Scorpio, though separated by 21°: they do not form a close conjunction, but the two slower planets occupy the same sign, doubling the pressure on that domain of the zodiac.
Uranus is in Sagittarius near 17°. Neptune is in Capricorn near 3°, having recently entered the sign in January 1984.
For a birth at 10:20 GMT in Funchal, roughly three hours before solar noon, the Sun is in the eastern half of the sky and climbing. The Ascendant and house positions for this mid-morning birth are shown in the chart table above, calculated by Astrian's engine using Placidus division.
Key aspects at close orbs: Mercury conjuncts the Sun at approximately 11° (wide for a conjunction). Mars squares Saturn by approximately 17° — beyond standard orb. Sun conjunct Mercury (11°, also wide). One aspect dominates: the Sun at Aquarius 16° opposes the Moon at Leo 13°47', within 2°47' of the exact opposition. February 5, 1985 was a full moon day. This chart carries the full moon at its center — solar and lunar principles at maximum separation and mutual visibility. The three-planet cluster in Aquarius (Sun, Mercury, and Mars within 17° of each other) runs through the same axis.
One tight aspect deserves attention: Uranus in Sagittarius sextiles Pluto in Scorpio by approximately 47° — within standard sextile orb for an applying aspect. Neptune in early Capricorn also sextiles Saturn in Scorpio.
The chart was calculated by Astrian's engine using NASA JPL DE441 ephemerides. Timezone: GMT (UTC +0). Source: Luca Caioli biography (2012), Hospital Cruz de Carvalho records, Funchal; endorsed by Sy Scholfield. See the note above the chart table. ---
Cristiano Ronaldo's chart belongs to the same Pluto in Scorpio generation as Lionel Messi, though born two and a half years earlier. Those born between approximately 1983 and 1995 carried Pluto in Scorpio. Where Messi was born near the beginning of Pluto's Scorpio transit, Ronaldo was born in its second year, at a moment when Saturn was also in Scorpio, adding another slow planet to that sign's domain.
Saturn's transit through Scorpio lasted from late 1982 to November 1985. For a brief period in early 1985 — the weeks surrounding Ronaldo's birth — both Saturn and Pluto occupied Scorpio simultaneously. This double concentration is a feature shared by charts born in the overlapping window of roughly 1983–1985.
In astrological tradition, Pluto in Scorpio is associated with the exposure of concealed structures: the dismantling of institutional opacity, the confrontation of accumulations of power that had operated without scrutiny, and the body's engagement with its own limits. Saturn in the same sign overlays the domain with structure, discipline, and a tendency toward long-term reckoning. The reading is symbolic and correlative, not causal.
Neptune entered Capricorn in January 1984, ending its transit through Sagittarius. The generation born in 1985 arrived at the beginning of this new Neptune placement: a shift from the idealism of Sagittarian Neptune toward Neptune's dissolution of Capricornian structures — institutions, hierarchies, the rules of commerce. ---

The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.
Three personal planets in Aquarius — Sun, Mercury, Mars — concentrate the chart's inner activity in a single sign. In astrological tradition, Aquarius is associated with the collective over the individual, with systematic thought, with the assertion of principle against convention. Sun and Mercury in the same sign reinforce each other's qualities. Mars in Aquarius introduces a drive that operates through principle rather than reflex.
The Sun at 16° Aquarius occupies the eleventh house for this 10:20 GMT birth, with the Ascendant at Aries 5°. In traditional astrology, the eleventh house is the domain of collective endeavor, association, and the public reception of one's purpose — the light directed outward toward the group rather than inward toward the self. The Moon at Leo 13°47' sits in the fifth house, directly opposite the Sun by 2°47': a chart born at the full moon, the lunar cycle at its peak of illumination. The opposition between Sun and Moon in Aquarius and Leo runs through the axis of collective principle and individual expression.
Saturn and Pluto both in Scorpio form the chart's deepest layer. Scorpio's symbolic register involves depth, pressure, what lies below surfaces, and the transformation that comes through confrontation rather than avoidance. Saturn here: the disciplined engagement with depth. Pluto: the irreversible pressure. The two planets are widely separated (21°) and do not form an exact conjunction, but their shared sign creates a double emphasis.
Jupiter at the Capricorn/Aquarius border carries its own symbolic field: the expansive planet at the threshold between the sign of institutional structure and the sign of collective principle.

Born in the Quinta do Falcão neighborhood of Santo António, Funchal, the fourth child of José Dinis Aveiro, a municipal gardener, and Maria Dolores dos Santos Viveiros. The island of Madeira had long exported labor to mainland Portugal and to the Portuguese diaspora; Funchal was its administrative capital. His father, an alcoholic, died in September 2005 at the age of fifty-two.
He began playing for Andorinha, a local club where his father worked as an equipment manager. At ten he was signed by Nacional da Madeira. At twelve he relocated to Lisbon to join Sporting CP's youth academy. At fifteen he was diagnosed with a rapid heartbeat requiring laser surgery; recovery lasted ten days and he returned to training without lasting effects.
He made his senior debut for Sporting CP on August 6, 2002, at seventeen. On August 12, 2003, he played a pre-season friendly for Sporting against Manchester United; Alex Ferguson signed him within days. At United he won the Premier League three times, the FA Cup once, and the UEFA Champions League in 2008 — the year he was named both FIFA World Player of the Year and won his first Ballon d'Or.
His transfer to Real Madrid in June 2009 for £80 million was then the world-record fee. He spent nine years at the club. In that time he scored 450 goals in 438 appearances, won four Champions League titles, four Ballon d'Or awards (2011, 2012, 2014, 2017), and two La Liga titles. His goals-per-game ratio at Madrid exceeded 1.0. He left for Juventus in July 2018 for €100 million.
With Portugal, he won UEFA Euro 2016 — emerging from the tournament's group stage having drawn all three games — after scoring the tournament's opening goal before limping off injured in the final's first half. He captained Portugal through three further World Cups without reaching a final. In 2021 he became the all-time top scorer in men's international football, surpassing the record of 109 goals held by Iran's Ali Daei. His international total at the time of writing exceeds 130 goals.
In January 2023, following a brief and acrimonious exit from Manchester United, he signed with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. His arrival restructured Saudi Pro League attendance and broadcast markets. ---
