About this chart
No birth time is documented for this person. The chart therefore shows planetary positions in their signs, the slow aspects between them, and the generational context — but not house placements, the Ascendant, or the Midheaven, which require an accurate birth time. The Moon's sign carries a ±6° margin: if it falls near a sign boundary, the sign could vary. Positions for all other planets are reliable.

The sky at birth
No birth time is documented for Rory McIlroy. The Ascendant, the Midheaven, and the house positions cannot be determined; the reading is confined to planetary sign placements and the aspects between planets. The positions below are calculated for noon local time and are accurate to a fraction of a degree for the slow-moving bodies. One caveat: the Moon lies near a sign boundary, so without an exact time it cannot be fixed to a single sign — it sits close to 29°25' Aries within a daily margin of about ±7°.
The Moon is near 29°25' Aries (noon position, ±7° margin). Sun is at 13°57' Taurus. Mercury is at 4°05' Gemini. Venus is at 21°36' Taurus. Mars is at 3°15' Cancer. Jupiter is at 10°18' Gemini. Saturn is at 13°49' Capricorn, retrograde. Uranus is at 5°04' Capricorn, retrograde. Neptune is at 12°16' Capricorn, retrograde. Pluto is at 13°47' Scorpio, retrograde.
3 bodies occupy Capricorn (Saturn, Uranus and Neptune) — a concentration that stands out as a structural feature of the chart.
The tightest major aspects between planets: Saturn sextile Pluto (0°01'); Sun trine Saturn (0°08'); Sun opposite Pluto (0°10'); Neptune sextile Pluto (1°31'); Saturn conjunct Neptune (1°33'); Sun trine Neptune (1°41').
Neptune sextile Pluto (1°31') is structural but generational — an alignment of slow-moving outer planets shared across many birth years.
The engine also registers tight minor aspects involving asteroids and calculated points: Sun semi-square Pallas (0°01'); Neptune sesquiquadrate Juno (0°05'); Jupiter semi-sextile Ceres (0°08'); Ceres trine Vesta (0°09'). These are reported for completeness and carry less weight in traditional reading.
The chart was calculated using NASA JPL DE441 ephemerides, sub-arcsecond precision.

Astronomical context
Pluto moved through its own sign, Scorpio, from 1983 to 1995. In astrological tradition Pluto in Scorpio is read as an intensification of themes of power, depth, crisis, and regeneration — the generation that grew up amid the digital turn and a transformed relationship to risk.
Rory McIlroy (born 1989) belongs to this generational configuration. Astrian groups profiles by such shared signatures rather than by any claim of shared destiny. Related profiles in Astrian: Jack Nicklaus · Arnold Palmer · Sebastian Vettel. The symbolic reading is correlative, not causal.

Symbolic reading
The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.
The Sun in Taurus is the most prominent structural feature available without a birth time, centring the chart on stability, persistence, and the tangible. There is no Ascendant or Midheaven to anchor the angles, so the reading rests on sign placements and the aspects between planets rather than on houses.
Among the personal planets, the Moon in Aries is associated in tradition with initiative, directness, and the will to begin (the Moon's sign is given for the noon chart and may shift with an exact time); Mercury in Gemini with curiosity, exchange, and versatility; Venus in Taurus with stability, persistence, and the tangible; and Mars in Cancer with attachment, memory, and protection. These placements describe registers of feeling, thought, attraction, and action as the tradition catalogues them, independent of the life that follows.
Saturn sextile Pluto (0°01'): tradition reads structure, limitation, and discipline in supportive contact with depth, power, and transformation.
Sun trine Saturn (0°08'): tradition reads identity and central purpose in easy flow with structure, limitation, and discipline.
Sun opposite Pluto (0°10'): tradition reads identity and central purpose set in polarity with depth, power, and transformation.
Neptune sextile Pluto (1°31'): tradition reads dissolution, imagination, and idealism in supportive contact with depth, power, and transformation.
These placements are presented as a symbolic portrait, correlative and never causal — a description within the tradition's vocabulary, not an explanation of the life that follows.
Astrology is a symbolic language with 2,500 years of literature. The reading above is interpretive, not explanatory.
Astrian does not claim that the natal chart of Rory McIlroy caused or determined any of the above. Astrology is a symbolic system with 2,500 years of literature. Its capacity for retrospective description does not imply explanatory capacity.
A parallel life
The following are verified biographical facts. No connection to the natal chart is implied.
Rory McIlroy was born on May 4, 1989, in Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland. He showed prodigious talent for golf from childhood and famously appeared on The Late Late Toy Show in Ireland at age nine, demonstrating his skills. He turned professional in 2007 at the age of 18 after a successful amateur career.
McIlroy won his first major championship at the 2011 U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club, setting a then-record score of 16 under par and winning by eight strokes. The following year he won the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island by eight strokes, becoming the youngest player to win two majors since Seve Ballesteros. He added two more PGA Championships in 2012... correction: he won the PGA Championship in 2012 and again in 2014, as well as The Open Championship in 2014. His four majors stand at: U.S. Open (2011), PGA Championship (2012, 2014), and The Open Championship (2014).
McIlroy reached world number one ranking for the first time in March 2012 and has returned to that position multiple times in his career. He has represented both Ireland and Europe in the Ryder Cup, being a consistent and significant contributor to European team victories.
Throughout his career McIlroy has been known for his ball-striking ability and driving distance. He has won titles on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour, and has accumulated dozens of professional victories worldwide. He has also been publicly involved in discussions about the governance of professional golf, particularly in relation to the proposed PGA Tour-LIV Golf consolidation discussions.
As of the mid-2020s, McIlroy has yet to win the Masters Tournament, which would complete the career Grand Slam, and this remains a prominent narrative in professional golf.
