The sky at birth

With a documented birth time, the full chart can be cast. The Ascendant falls at 13°27' Virgo and the Midheaven at 10°11' Gemini, which fixes the angular framework and allows the planets to be placed in houses.

Sun is at 6°07' Leo, house 11. Moon is at 12°25' Cancer, house 10. Mercury is at 23°12' Cancer, house 11. Venus is at 5°45' Virgo, house 12. Mars is at 7°22' Cancer, house 10. Jupiter is at 5°42' Libra, house 1. Saturn is at 5°20' Libra, house 1. Uranus is at 26°04' Scorpio, house 3, retrograde. Neptune is at 22°25' Sagittarius, house 4, retrograde. Pluto is at 21°44' Libra, house 2.

3 bodies occupy Cancer (Moon, Mercury and Mars) and 3 bodies occupy Libra (Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto) — a concentration that stands out as a structural feature of the chart.

The tightest major aspects between planets: Jupiter conjunct Saturn (0°22'); Sun sextile Jupiter (0°25'); Neptune sextile Pluto (0°40'); Sun sextile Saturn (0°47'); Mercury square Pluto (1°28'); Venus sextile Mars (1°37').

Neptune sextile Pluto (0°40') is structural but generational — an alignment of slow-moving outer planets shared across many birth years.

The engine also registers tight minor aspects involving asteroids and calculated points: Neptune quincunx Chiron (0°01'); Mars semi-square Chiron (0°04'); Mercury trine Lilith (0°23'); Uranus semi-sextile Juno (0°27'). These are reported for completeness and carry less weight in traditional reading.

The chart was calculated using NASA JPL DE441 ephemerides, sub-arcsecond precision.

Astronomical context

Pluto travelled through Libra from 1971 to 1984. In astrological tradition this transit is associated with the transformation of relationships, partnership, and the idea of balance — the cohort that redrew norms around marriage, equality, and the terms of personal alliance.

Fernando Alonso (born 1981) belongs to this generational configuration. Astrian groups profiles by such shared signatures rather than by any claim of shared destiny. Related profiles in Astrian: Lewis Hamilton · Michael Schumacher · Max Verstappen. The symbolic reading is correlative, not causal.

Symbolic reading

The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.

The Sun in Leo centres the chart on expression, pride, and the creative self. With the Ascendant in Virgo, tradition adds analysis, craft, and the refinement of method as the threshold through which that energy meets the world; the Sun marks the central drive, the Ascendant the manner of approach.

Among the personal planets, the Moon in Cancer is associated in tradition with attachment, memory, and protection; Mercury in Cancer with attachment, memory, and protection; Venus in Virgo with analysis, craft, and the refinement of method; and Mars in Cancer with attachment, memory, and protection. These placements describe registers of feeling, thought, attraction, and action as the tradition catalogues them, independent of the life that follows.

Jupiter conjunct Saturn (0°22'): tradition reads expansion and meaning fused with structure, limitation, and discipline.

Sun sextile Jupiter (0°25'): tradition reads identity and central purpose in supportive contact with expansion and meaning.

Neptune sextile Pluto (0°40'): tradition reads dissolution, imagination, and idealism in supportive contact with depth, power, and transformation.

Sun sextile Saturn (0°47'): tradition reads identity and central purpose in supportive contact with structure, limitation, and discipline.

These placements are presented as a symbolic portrait, correlative and never causal — a description within the tradition's vocabulary, not an explanation of the life that follows.

Astrology is a symbolic language with 2,500 years of literature. The reading above is interpretive, not explanatory.

Astrian does not claim that the natal chart of Fernando Alonso caused or determined any of the above. Astrology is a symbolic system with 2,500 years of literature. Its capacity for retrospective description does not imply explanatory capacity.

A parallel life

The following are verified biographical facts. No connection to the natal chart is implied.

Fernando Alonso Díaz was born on 29 July 1981 in Oviedo, in the Asturias region of northern Spain. He began karting as a small child, with early support from his father, and rose through the junior single-seater categories before reaching Formula One in the early 2000s.

He won the Formula One World Championship in 2005 and again in 2006 with the Renault team, becoming, at the time, the youngest world champion in the sport's history and ending a period of dominance by Michael Schumacher and Ferrari. He was widely regarded as one of the most complete and tenacious racing drivers of his era, admired for his racecraft and consistency.

Over a long career he drove for several leading teams, including Renault, McLaren, and Ferrari, where he came close to further titles without securing them, as well as later returns to the grid. Beyond Formula One he broadened his record in other forms of motorsport, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race and competing in a range of disciplines as he pursued a wider set of motorsport achievements.

He became the most prominent Spanish figure in the history of Formula One and a major sporting personality in Spain, with a career notable for its longevity at the highest level.

Alonso is regarded as one of the outstanding drivers of his generation, his two world titles and his successes across different forms of motorsport defining a long and varied career.
