The sky at birth

With a documented birth time, the full chart can be cast. The Ascendant falls at 10°14' Gemini and the Midheaven at 20°23' Aquarius, which fixes the angular framework and allows the planets to be placed in houses.

Sun is at 12°27' Aquarius, house 9. Moon is at 26°50' Pisces, house 11. Mercury is at 26°17' Aquarius, house 10. Venus is at 26°23' Sagittarius, house 7. Mars is at 16°59' Aries, house 11. Jupiter is at 23°28' Pisces, house 11. Saturn is at 18°33' Sagittarius, house 7. Uranus is at 25°18' Sagittarius, house 7. Neptune is at 6°49' Capricorn, house 8. Pluto is at 9°56' Scorpio, house 6.

3 bodies occupy Sagittarius (Venus, Saturn and Uranus) — a concentration that stands out as a structural feature of the chart.

The tightest major aspects between planets: Mercury sextile Venus (0°06'); Moon square Venus (0°28'); Mercury sextile Uranus (0°59'); Venus conjunct Uranus (1°05'); Moon square Uranus (1°32'); Mars trine Saturn (1°34').

Neptune sextile Pluto (3°07') is structural but generational — an alignment of slow-moving outer planets shared across many birth years.

The engine also registers tight minor aspects involving asteroids and calculated points: Jupiter trine Pallas (0°02'); Saturn trine Vesta (0°04'); Mars trine Ceres (0°15'); Pallas sextile Juno (0°20'). These are reported for completeness and carry less weight in traditional reading.

The chart was calculated using NASA JPL DE441 ephemerides, sub-arcsecond precision.

Astronomical context

Pluto moved through its own sign, Scorpio, from 1983 to 1995. In astrological tradition Pluto in Scorpio is read as an intensification of themes of power, depth, crisis, and regeneration — the generation that grew up amid the digital turn and a transformed relationship to risk.

Ronda Rousey (born 1987) belongs to this generational configuration. Astrian groups profiles by such shared signatures rather than by any claim of shared destiny. Related profiles in Astrian: Óscar de la Hoya · Anderson Silva · Triple H. The symbolic reading is correlative, not causal.

Symbolic reading

The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.

The Sun in Aquarius centres the chart on independence, abstraction, and the collective. With the Ascendant in Gemini, tradition adds curiosity, exchange, and versatility as the threshold through which that energy meets the world; the Sun marks the central drive, the Ascendant the manner of approach.

Among the personal planets, the Moon in Pisces is associated in tradition with imagination, dissolution, and empathy; Mercury in Aquarius with independence, abstraction, and the collective; Venus in Sagittarius with expansion, conviction, and the horizon; and Mars in Aries with initiative, directness, and the will to begin. These placements describe registers of feeling, thought, attraction, and action as the tradition catalogues them, independent of the life that follows.

Mercury sextile Venus (0°06'): tradition reads thought and communication in supportive contact with values, attraction, and harmony.

Moon square Venus (0°28'): tradition reads emotional life and instinct in friction with values, attraction, and harmony.

Mercury sextile Uranus (0°59'): tradition reads thought and communication in supportive contact with disruption and innovation.

Venus conjunct Uranus (1°05'): tradition reads values, attraction, and harmony fused with disruption and innovation.

These placements are presented as a symbolic portrait, correlative and never causal — a description within the tradition's vocabulary, not an explanation of the life that follows.

A parallel life

The following are verified biographical facts. No connection to the natal chart is implied.

Ronda Jean Rousey was born on February 1, 1987, in Riverside, California. She began training in judo at an early age under the guidance of her mother, AnnMaria De Mars, who was the first American to win a gold medal at the Judo World Championships in 1984. Rousey trained and competed in judo from childhood through her teens and early twenties.

Rousey represented the United States in judo at the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. At the 2008 Games, she won a bronze medal in the under-70 kg category, becoming the first American to win an Olympic judo medal since 1992. She was the youngest judoka in the Athens Olympics field in 2004.

Following her judo career, Rousey transitioned to mixed martial arts and compiled an undefeated record in Strikeforce and early UFC competition. She became the inaugural UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion in 2012 and defended the title six times, with all of her UFC victories coming by armbar submission or knockout. Her fights consistently drew large pay-per-view audiences and she was credited with significantly expanding the profile of women's MMA.

In November 2015, Rousey suffered her first professional loss, a knockout defeat to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne. She returned to competition in December 2016 and was again defeated by knockout, this time by Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. She did not fight in MMA again after that contest.

Rousey subsequently signed with WWE and competed as a professional wrestler from 2018 through 2023, winning the Raw Women's Championship and the SmackDown Women's Championship at various points. She was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018, the first woman to receive that honor. She announced her retirement from professional wrestling in 2023.
