The sky at birth

With a documented birth time, the full chart can be cast. The Ascendant falls at 6°04' Virgo and the Midheaven at 0°24' Gemini, which fixes the angular framework and allows the planets to be placed in houses.

Sun is at 29°21' Aquarius, house 6. Moon is at 11°24' Gemini, house 10. Mercury is at 17°09' Pisces, house 7. Venus is at 23°32' Pisces, house 7. Mars is at 1°21' Scorpio, house 3. Jupiter is at 25°54' Cancer, house 11, retrograde. Saturn is at 28°26' Pisces, house 7. Uranus is at 23°20' Virgo, house 1, retrograde. Neptune is at 24°20' Scorpio, house 3. Pluto is at 19°51' Virgo, house 1, retrograde.

3 bodies occupy Pisces (Mercury, Venus and Saturn) — a concentration that stands out as a structural feature of the chart.

The tightest major aspects between planets: Venus opposite Uranus (0°12'); Venus trine Neptune (0°48'); Uranus sextile Neptune (1°00'); Jupiter trine Neptune (1°34'); Sun trine Mars (2°00'); Venus trine Jupiter (2°22').

Uranus sextile Neptune (1°00') is structural but generational — an alignment of slow-moving outer planets shared across many birth years.

The engine also registers tight minor aspects involving asteroids and calculated points: Uranus square Ceres (0°01'); Venus trine Vesta (0°02'); Venus square Ceres (0°11'); Neptune trine Chiron (0°12'). These are reported for completeness and carry less weight in traditional reading.

The chart was calculated using NASA JPL DE441 ephemerides, sub-arcsecond precision.

Astronomical context

Pluto crossed Virgo from the late 1950s to 1971. In astrological tradition the passage is linked to the transformation of work, health, technique, and systems of organization — the generation that came of age amid automation and the reorganization of labour.

Roberto Baggio (born 1967) belongs to this generational configuration. Astrian groups profiles by such shared signatures rather than by any claim of shared destiny. Related profiles in Astrian: Andrea Pirlo · Romário · Gianluigi Buffon. The symbolic reading is correlative, not causal.

Symbolic reading

The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.

The Sun in Aquarius centres the chart on independence, abstraction, and the collective. With the Ascendant in Virgo, tradition adds analysis, craft, and the refinement of method as the threshold through which that energy meets the world; the Sun marks the central drive, the Ascendant the manner of approach.

Among the personal planets, the Moon in Gemini is associated in tradition with curiosity, exchange, and versatility; Mercury in Pisces with imagination, dissolution, and empathy; Venus in Pisces with imagination, dissolution, and empathy; and Mars in Scorpio with intensity, depth, and the will to transform. These placements describe registers of feeling, thought, attraction, and action as the tradition catalogues them, independent of the life that follows.

Venus opposite Uranus (0°12'): tradition reads values, attraction, and harmony set in polarity with disruption and innovation.

Venus trine Neptune (0°48'): tradition reads values, attraction, and harmony in easy flow with dissolution, imagination, and idealism.

Uranus sextile Neptune (1°00'): tradition reads disruption and innovation in supportive contact with dissolution, imagination, and idealism.

Jupiter trine Neptune (1°34'): tradition reads expansion and meaning in easy flow with dissolution, imagination, and idealism.

These placements are presented as a symbolic portrait, correlative and never causal — a description within the tradition's vocabulary, not an explanation of the life that follows.

Astrian does not claim that the natal chart of Roberto Baggio caused or determined any of the above. Astrology is a symbolic system with 2,500 years of literature. Its capacity for retrospective description does not imply explanatory capacity.

A parallel life

The following are verified biographical facts. No connection to the natal chart is implied.

Roberto Baggio was born on 18 February 1967 in Caldogno, in the Veneto region of Italy. He emerged at Fiorentina, where his creativity and skill made him a favourite of the supporters, before a high-profile and controversial transfer to Juventus, with whom he won league and European honours.

He became one of the most admired attacking players of his generation, an elegant forward and playmaker known for dribbling, vision, and free-kick ability, nicknamed "Il Divin Codino" for his ponytail. He was awarded the Ballon d'Or in 1993 at the peak of his powers, and he played for several leading Italian clubs across his career, including Juventus, Milan, and later Brescia.

With the Italy national team his career is most associated with the 1994 World Cup in the United States, where his goals carried the team to the final, in which he missed the decisive penalty in the shoot-out against Brazil, one of the most famous moments in the tournament's history. He played in multiple World Cups across his international career.

A practising Buddhist, he was noted for a thoughtful public manner and, after retiring, for humanitarian and charitable work.

Baggio is remembered as one of the finest and most beloved Italian footballers of his era, a player whose artistry and the drama of his career left a lasting impression on the sport.
