About this chart
No birth time is documented for this person. The chart therefore shows planetary positions in their signs, the slow aspects between them, and the generational context — but not house placements, the Ascendant, or the Midheaven, which require an accurate birth time. The Moon's sign carries a ±6° margin: if it falls near a sign boundary, the sign could vary. Positions for all other planets are reliable.

No birth time is documented for Madonna. The Ascendant, Midheaven, and house positions cannot be determined. The planetary positions below are calculated for noon local time and are accurate to within a fraction of a degree for the slow-moving planets. The Moon's position carries a margin of approximately ±7°.
The Sun is at 23°18' Leo. The Moon is at 14°32' Virgo (noon position, ±7° margin). Mercury is at 5°31' Virgo R. Venus is at 0°47' Leo. Mars is at 15°29' Taurus. Jupiter is at 26°25' Libra. Saturn is at 19°08' Sagittarius R. Uranus is at 12°42' Leo. Neptune is at 2°18' Scorpio. Pluto is at 1°43' Virgo.
Three planets occupy Leo: the Sun at 23°18', Venus at 0°47', and Uranus at 12°42'. This concentration in a single sign is a structural feature of the chart, independent of birth time. Mercury retrograde and Pluto are both in Virgo, at 5°31' and 1°43' respectively — a conjunction with an orb of 3°48'.
The tightest major aspects between planets: Venus square Neptune (1°31'), Mars square Uranus (2°47'), Sun sextile Jupiter (3°07'), Mercury sextile Neptune (3°13'), Mercury conjunct Pluto (3°48'), Sun trine Saturn (4°10'). Neptune sextile Pluto (0°35') is structural but generational — both are slow-moving outer planets whose alignment persists across birth years.
The engine also identifies the following tight minor aspects involving asteroids and calculated points: venus semi-sextile juno (0.05° app); ceres semi-square northNode (0.23° app); chiron sextile lilith (0.24° app); uranus semi-sextile vesta (0.40° app).
Those born between approximately 1957 and 1972 carried Pluto in Virgo. This generation grew up amid the social upheavals of the 1960s and 1970s — the civil rights movement, second-wave feminism, Vietnam, Watergate — inheriting both the idealism and the disillusionment of the postwar order.
In astrological tradition, Pluto in Virgo is associated with collective transformation of the domains that sign governs: work, health, service, method, and the critical analysis of systems. The generation that carried this placement entered the workforce during the transition from industrial to information economies, and became the cohort that digitized, systematized, and professionalized fields that had previously operated on tradition or intuition. The symbolic reading is correlative, not causal.
Others in the Astrian collection born under this configuration include Michael Jackson (1958), Barack Obama (1961), Whitney Houston (1963), Diego Maradona (1960), and Elon Musk (1971). Madonna, born in 1958, belongs to the early years of this generational wave.
Other profiles from this Pluto in Virgo generation
The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.
The Sun at 23°18' Leo is the most prominent structural feature of this chart. Without a documented birth time, there is no Ascendant or Midheaven — the reading is confined to planetary positions by sign and the aspects between planets.
The Moon at 14°32' Virgo represents the noon position; the actual placement falls within approximately 7° on either side. If born in the morning, the Moon would be in the earlier degrees of Virgo; if born late in the day, it would be in the later degrees. The Moon's sign placement in Virgo is probable across most of the day but not certain at the margins.
Mercury at 5°31' Virgo R, Venus at 0°47' Leo, and Mars at 15°29' Taurus complete the personal planet picture.
### The Leo concentration
Three bodies in Leo — the Sun, Venus, and Uranus — give this chart a structural emphasis in a single sign. The Sun and Venus share Leo but are separated by over 22°, so they do not form a conjunction. Uranus sits between them at 12°42'. In the vocabulary of tradition, Leo is associated with self-expression, performance, creative authority, and the impulse to be seen. A concentration of the chart's central light, the planet of values and aesthetics, and the planet of disruption and originality in this sign is read as an intensification of energy directed toward those domains.
Venus at 0°47' Leo occupies the first degree of the sign — a placement sometimes noted in the tradition for its freshness and directness, the qualities of a planet entering new symbolic territory.
### Venus square Neptune: the tightest personal aspect
Venus at 0°47' Leo forms a square to Neptune at 2°18' Scorpio, with an orb of 1°31'. This is the tightest major aspect between personal and outer planets in the chart. Venus governs aesthetics, desire, and what one finds worth pursuing. Neptune's register involves glamour, idealization, dissolution of boundaries, and the capacity to project an image that exceeds the literal. Squares are aspects of tension — productive friction rather than easy flow.
The following are verified biographical facts. No connection to the natal chart is implied.
Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone was born on 16 August 1958 in Bay City, Michigan, the third of six children of Silvio Anthony Ciccone, an engineer at Chrysler and General Motors, and Madonna Louise Fortin, a Franco-American from Bay City. The family was Catholic and of Italian descent on the father's side. Her mother died of breast cancer on 1 December 1963, when Madonna was five. Her father later married the family's housekeeper, Joan Gustafson; the blended household would include eight children. Madonna has described her mother's death as the event that defined everything that came after.
She grew up in Pontiac and Rochester Hills, Michigan, studied piano and ballet from an early age, and was a straight-A student at Rochester Adams High School. She enrolled at the University of Michigan on a dance scholarship in 1976, studying under choreographer Christopher Flynn, who encouraged her to pursue a career in New York. She dropped out after two years and arrived in Manhattan in the summer of 1978 with, by her account, thirty-five dollars.
The first years in New York were a succession of low-wage jobs — coat-check attendant, nude model for art classes, waitress at a Dunkin' Donuts in Times Square — and immersion in the downtown music and dance scenes. She studied briefly with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and with Pearl Lang. She formed a series of bands (the Breakfast Club, Emmy), recorded demo tapes, and attracted the attention of Sire Records executive Seymour Stein, who signed her in 1982 from his hospital bed.
Her debut album, Madonna (1983), produced the singles "Holiday," "Borderline," and "Lucky Star," which established her presence on dance floors and MTV. Like a Virgin (1984) became a global phenomenon: the title track, produced by Nile Rodgers, reached number one in the United States and five other countries. Her performance of the song at the first MTV Video Music Awards in September 1984, in a wedding dress on the stage of Radio City Music Hall, became one of the defining images of 1980s popular culture.
What followed was not a career but a sequence of reinventions, each accompanied by a transformation of sound, image, and public persona. True Blue

In fixed signs (Leo and Scorpio), this square operates within a register of intensity and persistence. The symbolic territory involves the relationship between personal beauty or desire and something larger, more diffuse, harder to pin down. The tradition reads Venus-Neptune squares as configurations where the aesthetic sense is powerful but restless, drawn to transform and re-imagine.
### Mars square Uranus
Mars at 15°29' Taurus squares Uranus at 12°42' Leo, orb 2°47'. Mars in Taurus — a fixed earth sign — represents drive expressed through persistence, physicality, and material stamina. Uranus in Leo represents disruption, originality, and the overturning of convention in the domain of self-expression. The square between them describes a structural tension: the force of sustained physical effort meeting the impulse to break with established form. In astrological tradition, Mars-Uranus squares are associated with sudden shifts of direction, unconventional uses of energy, and a resistance to predictable patterns.
### Mercury retrograde conjunct Pluto in Virgo
Mercury at 5°31' Virgo retrograde and Pluto at 1°43' Virgo are within 3°48' of conjunction. Mercury governs communication, calculation, and the strategic management of information. Pluto's register covers transformation, power, and what lies beneath surfaces. Both occupy Virgo, a sign associated with critical analysis and precision. The conjunction merges the two registers; Mercury's retrograde status adds a further layer in the tradition — an emphasis on revision, reconsideration, and the reworking of messages already sent.
### Sun sextile Jupiter, Sun trine Saturn
The Sun sextiles Jupiter (3°07') and trines Saturn (4°10'), forming productive alignments with both social planets. Jupiter in Libra expands through partnership and public engagement; Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius structures through discipline applied to broad ambitions. The Sun's harmonious contact with both is read in the tradition as a configuration that supports sustained public presence — the capacity to expand (Jupiter) without losing structural coherence (Saturn).
The planetary pattern here is read as a symbolic portrait, not a causal explanation. No planet caused, predicted, or determined any event or characteristic.

She directed two feature films — Filth and Wisdom (2008) and W.E. (2011) — and acted in Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), A League of Their Own (1992), and Evita (1996), for which she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. She adopted four children from Malawi between 2006 and 2017, in addition to her biological daughter Lourdes (born 1996, with Carlos Leon) and son Rocco (born 2000, with Guy Ritchie).
Her record sales exceed 300 million units, making her the best-selling female recording artist in history. She has won seven Grammy Awards and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2008). Her influence on the visual language of pop performance, the strategic use of controversy, and the economics of the concert tour is structural rather than anecdotal — a matter of industry transformation rather than individual acclaim.
In June 2023, she was hospitalized in New York with a serious bacterial infection that required intensive care. She resumed her Celebration World Tour in October 2023.
