The sky at birth
With a documented birth time, the full chart can be cast. The Ascendant falls at 25°46' Aries and the Midheaven at 13°59' Capricorn, which fixes the angular framework and allows the planets to be placed in houses.
Sun is at 16°03' Pisces, house 12. Moon is at 26°42' Scorpio, house 7. Mercury is at 1°25' Aries, house 12. Venus is at 29°19' Aries, house 1. Mars is at 16°27' Taurus, house 1. Jupiter is at 4°43' Capricorn, house 9. Saturn is at 0°42' Gemini, house 2. Uranus is at 17°30' Libra, house 6, retrograde. Neptune is at 5°15' Sagittarius, house 8. Pluto is at 1°06' Libra, house 6, retrograde.
The tightest major aspects between planets: Mercury opposite Pluto (0°19'); Sun sextile Mars (0°24'); Saturn trine Pluto (0°24'); Mercury sextile Saturn (0°43'); Mercury square Jupiter (3°19'); Jupiter square Pluto (3°37').
Neptune sextile Pluto (4°09') is structural but generational — an alignment of slow-moving outer planets shared across many birth years.
The engine also registers tight minor aspects involving asteroids and calculated points: Moon sesquiquadrate Chiron (0°01'); Mercury quincunx Lilith (0°08'); Jupiter quincunx Pallas (0°10'); Pluto semi-sextile Lilith (0°10'). These are reported for completeness and carry less weight in traditional reading.
The chart was calculated using NASA JPL DE441 ephemerides, sub-arcsecond precision.

Astronomical context
Pluto travelled through Libra from 1971 to 1984. In astrological tradition this transit is associated with the transformation of relationships, partnership, and the idea of balance — the cohort that redrew norms around marriage, equality, and the terms of personal alliance.
Shaquille O'Neal (born 1972) belongs to this generational configuration. Astrian groups profiles by such shared signatures rather than by any claim of shared destiny. Related profiles in Astrian: Kobe Bryant · LeBron James · Allen Iverson. The symbolic reading is correlative, not causal.

Symbolic reading
The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.
The Sun in Pisces centres the chart on imagination, dissolution, and empathy. With the Ascendant in Aries, tradition adds initiative, directness, and the will to begin as the threshold through which that energy meets the world; the Sun marks the central drive, the Ascendant the manner of approach.
Among the personal planets, the Moon in Scorpio is associated in tradition with intensity, depth, and the will to transform; Mercury in Aries with initiative, directness, and the will to begin; Venus in Aries with initiative, directness, and the will to begin; and Mars in Taurus with stability, persistence, and the tangible. These placements describe registers of feeling, thought, attraction, and action as the tradition catalogues them, independent of the life that follows.
Mercury opposite Pluto (0°19'): tradition reads thought and communication set in polarity with depth, power, and transformation.
Sun sextile Mars (0°24'): tradition reads identity and central purpose in supportive contact with drive, assertion, and action.
Saturn trine Pluto (0°24'): tradition reads structure, limitation, and discipline in easy flow with depth, power, and transformation.
Mercury sextile Saturn (0°43'): tradition reads thought and communication in supportive contact with structure, limitation, and discipline.
These placements are presented as a symbolic portrait, correlative and never causal — a description within the tradition's vocabulary, not an explanation of the life that follows.
Astrology is a symbolic language with 2,500 years of literature. The reading above is interpretive, not explanatory.
Astrian does not claim that the natal chart of Shaquille O'Neal caused or determined any of the above. Astrology is a symbolic system with 2,500 years of literature. Its capacity for retrospective description does not imply explanatory capacity.
A parallel life
The following are verified biographical facts. No connection to the natal chart is implied.
Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal was born on 6 March 1972 in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up partly on military bases as his stepfather served in the army, and developed into an exceptionally large and athletic young player. After a standout college career at Louisiana State University he was selected first overall in the NBA draft.
He became one of the most physically dominant centers in the history of the sport. With the Los Angeles Lakers, alongside Kobe Bryant, he won three consecutive NBA championships in the early 2000s, and he was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 2000. He later won a fourth championship with the Miami Heat, and also played for several other franchises over a long career.
His combination of size, strength, and surprising agility around the basket made him almost impossible to defend one-on-one, and rule and officiating debates often centred on how to contain him. He was a perennial All-Star and is consistently ranked among the greatest centers the game has produced.
Beyond basketball he built a wide-ranging media and business career, recording music, appearing in films, and becoming a popular television analyst whose humour and personality made him a fixture of basketball broadcasting. He also pursued business investments and public-facing ventures.
O'Neal is remembered both as one of the most dominant players ever to compete in the NBA and as one of the sport's most recognisable and entertaining personalities, a figure whose presence extended well beyond his playing achievements.
