About this chart
No birth time is documented for this person. The chart therefore shows planetary positions in their signs, the slow aspects between them, and the generational context — but not house placements, the Ascendant, or the Midheaven, which require an accurate birth time. The Moon's sign carries a ±6° margin: if it falls near a sign boundary, the sign could vary. Positions for all other planets are reliable.

No birth time is documented for The Weeknd. The Ascendant, Midheaven, and house positions cannot be determined. The planetary positions below are calculated for noon local time and are accurate to within a fraction of a degree for the slow-moving planets. The Moon's position carries a margin of approximately ±7°.
The Sun is at 27°45' Aquarius. The Moon is at 16°04' Scorpio (noon position, ±7° margin). Mercury is at 6°29' Aquarius. Venus is at 22°15' Capricorn. Mars is at 13°07' Capricorn. Jupiter is at 0°55' Cancer R. Saturn is at 20°55' Capricorn. Uranus is at 8°17' Capricorn. Neptune is at 13°39' Capricorn. Pluto is at 17°47' Scorpio.
Five planets occupy Capricorn: Uranus at 8°17', Mars at 13°07', Neptune at 13°39', Saturn at 20°55', and Venus at 22°15'. This concentration in a single sign is a structural feature independent of birth time. Mars at 13°07' Capricorn conjoins Neptune at 13°39' Capricorn (0°32') — the tightest major aspect in the chart. Venus at 22°15' Capricorn conjoins Saturn at 20°55' Capricorn (1°20'). The Sun at 27°45' Aquarius trines Jupiter at 0°55' Cancer retrograde (3°10'). Saturn sextiles Pluto at 17°47' Scorpio (3°08'). Uranus conjoins Neptune (5°22').
The tightest major aspects between planets: Mars conjunction Neptune (0°32'), Venus conjunction Saturn (1°20'), Sun trine Jupiter (3°10'), Saturn sextile Pluto (3°08'), Mars conjunction Uranus (4°50'), Uranus conjunction Neptune (5°22').
The engine also identifies the following tight minor aspects involving asteroids and calculated points: jupiter sesquiquadrate northNode (0.07° sep); moon square northNode (0.09° sep); moon sesquiquadrate jupiter (0.15° sep); moon quincunx pallas (0.16° app).
Those born between approximately 1984 and 1995 carried Pluto in Scorpio. This generation arrived at the end of the Cold War, inheriting an era of accelerated information, digital emergence, the AIDS crisis, and the first wave of economic globalization. They grew up during the transition from analogue to digital and reached adulthood in a world reshaped by the internet, social media, and the 2008 financial crisis.
In astrological tradition, Pluto in Scorpio is associated with collective transformation of the domains that sign governs: sexuality, death and regeneration, shared resources, psychological depth, secrecy, and the exposure of hidden power structures. Scorpio is the sign of what lies beneath surfaces. Pluto's transit through its own modern domicile is read, symbolically, as a period of intensified collective encounter with themes of power, vulnerability, and transformation at the deepest register. The symbolic reading is correlative, not causal.
Others in the Astrian collection born under this configuration include Bruno Mars (1985), Drake (1986), Rosalía (1992), and Bad Bunny (1994). The Weeknd, born in 1990, belongs to the middle years of this generational wave.
Other profiles from this Pluto in Scorpio generation
The following describes what classical astrological tradition associates with these configurations. Astrian does not apply these descriptions to the person's biography.
The Sun at 27°45' Aquarius is the most prominent structural feature of this chart. Without a documented birth time, there is no Ascendant or Midheaven — the reading is confined to planetary positions by sign and the aspects between planets.
The Moon at 16°04' Scorpio represents the noon position; the actual placement falls within approximately 7° on either side. If born early in the day, the Moon could be in the low teens of Scorpio; if born late, in the low twenties. The Moon's sign placement in Scorpio is secure for the entire day.
Mercury at 6°29' Aquarius, Venus at 22°15' Capricorn, and Mars at 13°07' Capricorn complete the personal planet picture.
### The Capricorn stellium
The chart's defining structural feature by volume is a five-planet concentration in Capricorn: Uranus at 8°17', Mars at 13°07', Neptune at 13°39', Saturn at 20°55', and Venus at 22°15'. Five planets in a single sign — spanning nearly 14° — constitute an exceptionally dense stellium.
In the vocabulary of the tradition, Capricorn governs structure, ambition, discipline, the encounter with authority, the mastery of material form, and the relationship between effort and endurance. It is the sign of the architect and the strategist — the impulse directed not at spontaneous expression but at the construction of something that lasts. A concentration of five planets in Capricorn directs a large proportion of the chart's energy toward these registers.
The presence of both generational planets (Uranus and Neptune) within the stellium means that the collective signature of the early 1990s — the Uranus-Neptune conjunction in Capricorn, associated with the disruption and reconstruction of institutional structures — is embedded in the personal pattern through its proximity to Mars, Saturn, and Venus. The generational becomes personal.
The following are verified biographical facts. No connection to the natal chart is implied.
Abel Makkonen Tesfaye was born on 16 February 1990 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the only child of Ethiopian immigrants Makkonen and Samra Tesfaye, who had fled the communist Derg regime. His parents separated when he was young; he was raised primarily by his mother and grandmother, speaking Amharic at home. He grew up in the Scarborough district of Toronto.
He attended two high schools but dropped out at seventeen, leaving home with a friend and living in various apartments around the Parkdale neighbourhood. He later described this period as one of heavy drug use and dislocation. The stage name "The Weeknd" — missing the final "e" to avoid a trademark conflict — was chosen around this time.
In December 2010, he uploaded three songs to YouTube under the name The Weeknd: "What You Need," "Loft Music," and "The Morning." He refused to give interviews, show his face, or confirm his identity. The music circulated through blogs and social media with no promotional apparatus, accumulating millions of plays. Drake posted about the tracks on his blog in March 2011, and the mythology was established: an anonymous voice from Toronto making music that sounded like nothing on the radio — slow, narcotized R&B layered with atmospheric production, lyrically explicit about drugs, sex, loneliness, and self-destruction.
He released three free mixtapes in 2011 — House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence — later compiled as Trilogy (2012) on Republic Records. Kiss Land (2013) was his first proper studio album.
His commercial breakthrough arrived with "Can't Feel My Face" and "The Hills" from the album Beauty Behind the Madness (2015), both reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Starboy (2016) continued the trajectory, with the title track topping the Hot 100 and the album debuting at number one worldwide.
After Hours (2020) produced "Blinding Lights," which became the number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent a record-breaking 90 weeks in the chart's top ten — at the time of its decline, it was the most-charted song in Hot 100 history. He performed the Super Bowl LV halftime show on 7 February 2021, reportedly investing $7 million of his own money into the production, before an estimated 96 million viewers.

Mars at 13°07' Capricorn conjoins Neptune at 13°39' Capricorn, orb 0°32' — the tightest major aspect in the chart. Mars governs action, drive, and the physical application of will. Neptune governs the ideal, the imaginative, the dissolution of boundaries, and the capacity for both transcendence and illusion. Their conjunction fuses action with imagination — what is done carries a quality of the visionary, the atmospheric, and the not-quite-concrete.
In Capricorn — the sign of structure and material discipline — this fusion operates within form rather than dissolving it. The tradition reads Mars-Neptune conjunctions as configurations where action is infused with an element of the cinematic, the dreamlike, or the aesthetically intoxicating — but in Capricorn, the dream is built rather than merely experienced.
### Venus conjunction Saturn
Venus at 22°15' Capricorn conjoins Saturn at 20°55' Capricorn, orb 1°20'. Venus governs aesthetics, desire, and the sense of beauty. Saturn governs structure, limitation, and the endurance of form. Their conjunction binds the aesthetic impulse to the demand for discipline — beauty is not effortless but earned, not spontaneous but constructed. Venus-Saturn conjunctions in the tradition carry a quality of controlled elegance, of beauty that has been subjected to restriction and emerged the more powerful for it.
### Sun trine Jupiter
The Sun at 27°45' Aquarius trines Jupiter at 0°55' Cancer retrograde, orb 3°10'. The Sun represents identity; Jupiter represents expansion, vision, and amplification. The trine connects these registers in a harmonious, flowing relationship — identity is naturally amplified, projected on a broad stage, and oriented toward the large gesture. The axis falls across Aquarius and Cancer: the innovative and the emotionally resonant, the collective and the personal.
### Saturn sextile Pluto
Saturn at 20°55' Capricorn sextiles Pluto at 17°47' Scorpio, orb 3°08'. Saturn governs structure; Pluto governs transformation and power. The sextile connects discipline with transformative intensity in a cooperative relationship — structure serves depth, and ambition is not merely strategic but psychologically penetrating.

Dawn FM (2022), a concept album designed as a simulated radio broadcast, was followed by the announcement of the "Hurry Up Tomorrow" project — an album, a film, and a planned concert at the Rose Bowl. His concert at SoFi Stadium on 25 January 2025 was interrupted by the Los Angeles wildfires.
He announced publicly in 2024 that the name "The Weeknd" would be retired after the completion of the "Hurry Up Tomorrow" trilogy, and that he would release future music under his given name, Abel Tesfaye.
As of 2025, he has sold an estimated 75 million records worldwide. He is one of the most-streamed artists in Spotify history. He serves as a World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador and has donated millions to Ethiopian relief and famine efforts.
